This document requires solicitor certification in order to be eligible for the apostille. Most orders are completed in just 1-2 working days all being well. If you also need translation or embassy attestation services the processing time will be increased.

If you need to prove you are a UK citizen for identification purposes, you may be asked to get an Apostille for your passport. The Apostille will always be issued to a photocopy of the passport and the original remains untouched.

As part of the process a copy of the passport will be certified by a practicing solicitor or Notary Public in the UK. If you have already arranged for the certification of the document you can simply send this certified copy to us with a completed order form. Alternatively, if you send the original document to us we can arrange for a copy to be solicitor certified and issued with the apostille.

There are two options available when legalising a passport with the apostille –

1 – Send us a copy of the document that has been certified by a UK solicitor or notary public. We can then arrange for the apostille to be issued.

2 – Send the original passport to us. We can then arrange for a copy to be made of the photo page. This is then solicitor certified and issued with the apostille. We will keep your passport safe in our office while the copy is legalised.

After ordering online you simply need to send the original, or a UK solicitor certified copy, to us with a note of your order number.

Unfortunately, no. We cannot accept a copy of a passport in good faith. There is no way of verifying a copy of a passport. We need to see the original passport to make a copy. Alternatively, you need to post a pre-certified copy to us.

Yes, multiple documents relating to the same person can be combined into a bound set of documents legalised with one apostille. However, it is not common practice to do this and a passport copy normally has it’s own apostille.

Yes. We can arrange for our solicitor to make a PDF copy of the passport photo page. This digital version of the document will then be electronically certified by our solicitor so that we can obtain the electronic Apostille from the FCDO.
